Echo Valley Farm is a small, diversified family-farm in Loma Mar, California, one hour south of San Francisco and 15 minutes from the coast. Our farm is a picturesque, historic property– a 1890’s farmhouse, 3 cabin homestead circling a large meadow surrounded by the redwood forest and the Pescadero creek.
Under the watchful supervision of these grand old trees, Jeff and Kate Haas with resident farmers Dede, Debbie and Patrick, are the grateful caretakers of this magical spot in San Mateo County. We strive to be an open-minded, inclusive group of farmers with a shared vision and a commitment to best use of this land.
Our vision
We raise a food cornucopia for ourselves, families and the extra is shared with our community through our local CSA and at the Pescadero Grown! two local farmers markets. It is our goal to be our neighborhood’s farm. What we grow is delicious & organic (though not yet certified.)
On our one-acre veggie garden we grow over 50 different varieties of crops. Our pasture we raise compassionately tended-to animals and aspire to manage our land such that we leave our soil each year better than the year before. We do this by rotating placement of our vegetables between seasons, planting cover crops to fix nitrogen and provide organic matter for the soil, use our tractor to till as little as possible in order to maintain our soil structure and with farm-grown compost we amend our soil.
